Notice of Construction on West Gray Rd, Wheeler Road and Liberty Ave.
In the Fall of 2023 Gray Water District was the recipient of a 1.4-million-dollar Congressional Direct Spending Grant from Senator Susan Collins office. The grant is to be used for our Turnpike Crossing / West Gray Road main replacement project. This project aims to replace aging main both under the turnpike on Route 26/Shaker Rd and on West Gray Rd including Wheeler Road. There will be valve work done on Liberty Ave. This is a 2.2-million-dollar project for which we will be bonding $700,000.
The West Gray Rd portion of the project will begin pre-construction activities the week of April 8th with regular construction commencing the week of April 22nd. Traffic delays are expected, and travelers are encouraged to find alternate routes if possible.
